Remembering her today

I recollect umpteen lunches

She offered me

As fondly as she fed her offspring

In the beginning

I hesitated

I am not accustomed to swim in

Unbridled love

It is years since I saw her

But continued to know of

Her lonely furrow in life

Determination to stay alone

To lead life at her terms

A farmer’s daughter

And a teacher’s wife

Responsibility

With respect

Love without boundaries

Living within constrains

Withering in the weather of

Unseasonal clouds

And dust storms

She is that Mango tree

Of Nuzvid
